CATERINA APICELLA

Caterina is one of six, who grew up watching her father Raffaele Apicella, also known as 'Filuccio', making ceramics in his workshop. Naturally, all her siblings used to play with clay and learnt the tricks of the trade as young children.

In particular, her brother Benvenuto Apicella, found his passion in this business. He pursued his ceramics career and to this day is fully involved in the making of the family production. As time passed, Caterina would spend her afternoons in between studying, by her dad's side, helping him create his unique handmade pieces. Being exposed constantly to this environment, she absorbed the attention to detail and effort it took to create such one of a kind pieces.

Naturally, after moving to Australia, she needed to bring a piece of home to her new home and felt this was the perfect way to do so. Finally, alongside her two daughters, Alessia and Silvia, she is bringing her family traditions to you! She hopes to bring the warmth of the Amalfi Coast into your home, through the colours and shapes that are present in our ceramics symbolising many of the different elements that create family, traditions and unity.
